Lunch with the king of the ladmags
I had lunch today with Greg Gutfeld, who was until recently the Editor-in-Chief of Maxim UK, and who used to edit Men’s Health and Stuff. It’s was nice to meet Greg, but he was quickly overshadowed by the presence of Tim Burton (eating at a table near us) and Paul McCartney, who smiled and waved at me and pretended he wanted to eat our food. (Oddly, there was no food on our table. Good thing, since we lunched on lamb chops and duck.)
These days, Greg is pretty busy fielding death threats from George Clooney fans, over his blog entries on the Huffington Post. But he showed me an advance copy of a mini-magazine (entitled Mixam, which Greg helpfully explained is Maxim spelled backwards. Thanks, Greg!) that will come out with the British version of the magazine in May. It is easily one of the most disgusting, profane, misogynist, offensive pieces of print I’ve ever seen. In other words, it’s great! Get your copy in a few weeks – you will thank me.
Please sign my petition to have Gutfeld whipped with a car antenna and thrown into a pit of human feces!

Oh yeah? Well which Beatle do YOU hang out with, Jimmy? AHA!
Seriously, Gutfeld has a gift. There are ten pages of bitterness linked on the Clooney thing... All in critique of a plainly satiric piece with no statistics, factoids, or backtracking punchlines.

I just signed in at Huffpo to say fantastic on the George Swooney piece. But it looks like they're closed for comments. Funny stuff and so true!
